Jerky Vertical Panning

Discussion in 'X-Star / X-Star Premium' started by Werner Bertsch, Jul 16, 2017.

  1. I have been using a Q500 for over 2 years but also have a new Autel Xstar Pro and have a problem with smooth vertical panning. It is very jerky even after setting the speed low in the setup menu. Does anyone have the same problem? Is this normal on this unit?
    Thanks

  2. Werner, I haven't noticed overall jerky vertical panning, however there is apparently a firmware glitch that causes a very brief pause right at the 45 degree point, which causes a jerky appearance at that point and disrupts an otherwise smooth pan. The effect seems to vary depending on the pan speed, but if you look for it you'll see it every time. It's my understanding that this is a known issue, and should be fixed with the next firmware update. Not sure if that's what your seeing or if you have an issue throughout the pan range. If that's the case, I would say it is definitely not normal.
