Nice of DJI to help "Big Brother" though. Seriously though, I do see the safety issues but, it's still a scary, "1984-ish" thing. https://www.krqe.com/news/balloon-f...o-drone-fly-zone-at-balloon-fiesta/1510662538
I have been to that Balloon Festival before and the photography you can get from it can be amazing and it could pose safety threats if you get to close to the balloons. I can also see now that the FAA or law enforcement could start using that device to harass people flying legally.
Hundreds violate FAA's no drone fly zone at Balloon Fiesta Hah - there were 40 flights recorded. Crap like this is why we hate reporters
I've been out for a few days but just saw this recently. Yep... media strikes again with exaggerating, and over-reporting. It's still not good that 40 flights were recorded.
I agree and I would like to see some follow up to see if any of these guys got a ticket or warning. If they have the iD number you would think they could at least get a phone call. I have a suspicion that if there wasn't an actual indecent causing damage that the FAA is to busy to do anything. I may be wrong but I haven't seen where any body has been hung up by there thumbs yet for an incursion.
Knowing how the media is, they will do everything they can to try and make people think that the 100's of drones caused so many problems and should never be allowed to fly again. lol If they know who they are, they do need to get at least a phone call saying, we know for a fact you were there and you need to knock it off.
